Your role with us:

As a Cost Estimator/Purchaser at MGAB, you are responsible for developing competitive estimates and ensuring cost-effective purchases. The role is central to the company's business process and involves close collaboration with site managers and management. You contribute to profitability and long-term customer relationships through accurate estimates, well-negotiated purchases, and a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, quantity take-offs, create schedules according to estimates, cost assessments, and tender documents.
• Analyze tender documents and participate in bidding work
• Work in the estimating program Bidcon to develop and update estimates
• Request and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
• Negotiate prices and contract terms with suppliers and subcontractors
• Ensure that purchases are made at the right price, quality, and time
• Establish purchasing plans and follow up on deliveries
• Collaborate with site managers in budget and cost monitoring
• Document and report according to company procedures

Authorities

• Conduct material and service purchases within established budget limits
• Negotiate and propose contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
• Larger purchases and contracts must be approved by the operations manager

Competencies and Attitudes

• Good analytical and economic understanding
• Experience in estimating work and purchasing within the construction or civil engineering industry
• Knowledge of estimating programs, especially Bidcon
• Ability to communicate and collaborate professionally with suppliers, customers, and colleagues
• Structured, meticulous, and results-oriented
